He was in meditation (Thugdam) for three days. He then transferred into Nirvana during the great puja by Gyalwa Dokhampa Khamtrul Rinpoche ,H.E Dorzong Rinpoche,Togdens (yogis)and a large assembly of sangha fromTashi Jong.

He was cremated there and later in the ashes with his bones appeared auspicious relics and radiant colors.

Lama Namdag was born in Kinnaur in 1934 on the 1st of Jannuary at Jangi village. Kinnaur is a remote area situated in Himachal Pradesh in India which borders Tibet. At the age of 29 he traveled to Tibet to learn Buddhism.

His devotion to Buddhism was very strong and he determined to accomplish the Buddha Dharma. He walked to Tibet and reached Dechen Choekhor monastery which is in the Drukpa Kaghu linage. He received the most important transmissions of mahamudra teaching from H.E. Choegon Rinpoche. Lama Namdag did many practices while in Tibet with H.E Choegon Rinpoche the second famous guru of the Drukpa linage.

After some time he returned to his village Jangi. There he studied with H.E. Yulgyal  tulku Rinpoche and according to his guidance went into a three year retreat. On completion he continued meditation and Dharma practice the remainder of his life in a small wooden house in Jangi. There is no counting how much mantra he had done. He wasn't a scholar of Buddha Dharma, though there is no doubt that he was a great practitioner. We are very proud of these devoted lamas and yogis.
